Hello. My name is...

Semi-Slacker Mom & I am addicted to Facebook.

My friend, Britain was complaining because I haven't posted lately & she's snowed in & bored, but if she'd just get on Facebook from time to time she might get her comic relief.  But since she doesn't...

My first impression of Facebook was that it was kind of stupid.  The only reason I even signed up was so I could see my bestie's ex-husband page.  And for the longest time I rarely even logged on.

Really all I did was collect friends. When I did get on, I rarely "updated my status" just stalked & left comments & likes here & there. Then I made myself (well not me, my blog) a fan page, so I had to get on for that & then I did the whole network blog thing, so I'd get on for that.

I don't remember when my addiction started. Maybe after all the birthday wishes I got for my birthday, but seriously, I'll bet money that I got on every day in December & every day since. Ooooh, I remember when I really started getting into FB, when Baby Girl was in the hospital & my bestie brought me her laptop.  Yeah, that's it, so Amber's to blame.

I even "update my status" quite frequently. I had some really good ones around Christmas...Dear Santa, Please send your credit card numbers. It's only fair since you're getting the credit for the gifts, that you should start paying for them also. & Tis the season for some eggnog. I made this fun little thing with some of my favorite "updates".
I have 860 friends on FB.  Some of them I wouldn't even talk to on the street. But we're "friends".  They really should change it to "acquaintances" or just "people you know". I am "friends" with every guy I've ever dated & most of their wives, except one (boyfriend). That one is the only one where it would be kind of awkward. Not that I chit chat with any of them.

Anystalker, the most people that have been on at the same time was like 70ish & that was the day everyone was iced it. Usually it's this the same people too. And only a few of them I wouldn't talk to in public.

Facebook does have some benefits.  When Baby Girl was sick I found out a couple from high school's little girl has the same thing. So does one of my blog/FB friends.  You can see pictures of everybody's children. It's even better than a reunion; you can see who's gotten fat & bald, who's done well for themselves & who, well notsomuch.

Facebook does interfere with my blogging because I can say what I'm thinking in one or two clever sentences as opposed to thinking of a whole post.  And, granted I still LOVE getting comments on my blog, I have started getting that same feeling when somebody comments on my status updates as I did on from comments on my posts.  I don't know it's wierd.

And now I don't check my email as much because most people just message anything important on FB.  But I check Facebook first thing in the morning & before I go to bed.  And several times during the day.  Plus FB has games, I'm not talking Farmville & such, but the little addictive video games.  I'm such a nerd.

And gossip. The fact that I'm a busy body may attribute to my addiction. Through Facebook I can keep up with everybody's business.  Granted it's only those same 70 people but still.  Wonder how I can get those other people to air their dirty laundry?  I know some of my "friends" have got to have some good stuff going on it their lives.  I'm a SAHM & 2 of my stories were cancelled, humor me people.

So are you on Facebook?

You are hilarious!! I bet everyone is so excited when you post!! Our snow is finally melting - is yours? Thank goodness - sick of snow and ice. I sent an email to a friend of mine with this: Ever seen the movie "The Shining"? She wrote me back, Yes, I have seen it. She didn't even get my joke. Hate to waste a good joke ;-) LOVE. XOXO

I am also a facebook addict. And a Bejewled Blitz addict.

It (Facebook, not Bejewled Blitz) fulfills much of my curiosity and noseyness.

Good Lord yes and I'm a fanatic status updater as well. I will say I do keep my friends list smallish... right now its around 250 and I need to go in and clean it out. I have two profiles... my real one and the one attached to my blog page... sometimes having an anonymous blog is a lot of work :0

I am on FB, but I don't get on much. Prefer blogging and Tweeting much better.

And girl you can see a lot of dirty laundry. I mean there are some people on there that just go all out. Sometimes I think it is hilarious and others I just shake my head in shame for them.

why? because I'm nosy and even if I rarely talk to you I definitely want to talk about you to everyone else...and that's what you get for posting your business...

Facebook was my savior while I was having Jellybean and when he was in NICU - my sister kept everyone posted until I could and they were all so supportive!
