Cake & Cocktails

It's my birthday & I'll throw myself a party if I want to!  So I did.  on Saturday

And let me just say I big puffy heart Facebook, especially this past weekend.  One hundred & thirty-one people wished me Happy Birthday!  And that's not even counting all the times my friend, Mitzi Mc, did. :) She's a reader & frequent commenter!  And I love it when my IRL friends comment.

*spoiler alert: lots of pictures*

Of course, my SIL made my cake.  It was chocolate. with chocolate icing. and chocolate ganache.  Sass & I thought it needed a little something on top & while I was searching for the butterflies from Baby Girl's cake or the swirly things from hers, she stuck an "airplane" bottle of Absolut on top.
This is the cake they made for my daddy's birthday on Friday. I was the best birthday gift he's ever gotten.  I tell him that every year.  Anyway, he grows camellias & my SIL made the cake & my brother painted the flower on fondant.  Pretty cool, huh?

Now for the party pics...  Here's me & my besties.  This is the worst picture of me, but seriously they deleted like 3 pictures immediately after they were taken.  They so love for me to post their pictures.

I let Sass stay at the party (I farmed out her brother & sister) so her bestie, Lil came over with her parents.  These girlies are always party-ready.  Aren't they so cute with their matchy-matchy dresses?

Lil's momma & Aunt Tiff, who you may remember as part of the SGI Beach Crew & our good friend, Amber smile pretty for the camera & they didn't even check my photography skillz.

Obviously this was well into the evening, but still a nice picture of the hubs & his better half.

The girlies & their mommas.  I don't know who had more fun, them or the grown-ups. Buford's girls make us Semi-Slackers look so short.  okay, we are so short.
The food...

The beverages...
The bar...
and just because you don't look at the camera, doesn't mean I won't take your picture.  Y'all did notice that "Pink Party Punch" didn't you?

Some of the gifts...
Cupcakes from Hello There Cupcake. Yum.
(Clockwise from top left; Funky Monkey, Pina Colada, Lemon Love & Cinnamon Roll)
I'll let you guess which one was my favorite.

Does this not have my name written all over it?  So did the chic at Hobby Lobby when I went in to replace it after Baby Girl broke the orginial.  I got the last one was it must have been meant to be.

Only in the South does the party always end up in the yard, even in November.

B had to make a "redneck" cornhole board. You may also remember his "redneck" slip & Slide from the beach.  Retro may be getting a cornhole set for Christmas just for parties.  The girls were keeping score.
Beauregard has always got to be in the middle of everything!

Our friend, Darrell (the guest of honor at the last party we had) is in Iraq, so we were texting with him during the party. I thought this was too funny, he's doing water shots in my honor. These people have to go fight in a war & can't even have a drink. No wonder they're so stressed out. I wonder if they can have "happy pills"?

I'm glad to see his wifey had a good time!

And this is how I celebrated my actual birthday; in my comfy clothes, making smores on the grill with my children.
