I've been wanting to make some Taco Soup for quite a while, but Retro doesn't like a lot of beans & every recipe I saw called for tons of beans. So I came up with my own version.
2 lbs. ground beef (browned)
1 lg. can crusted tomatoes (Hunt's)
2 cans Green Giant Southwestern Style corn
2 pkgs. taco seasoning
2 sm. cans tomato sauce
Heat & serve hot with shredded cheese, sour cream & corn chips.
I made this on Saturday & we just finished it tonight! Success? I think so. (plus we've been eating fair food too!)

yumm we love taco soup but I have never made it with that kind of corn, may have to try that one next time
Dang, that sounds super easy and yummy!!
The only ones I've seen have beans and ranch seasoning. Why? I don't get the ranch dressing.
this recipe is so close to the one I make {and just realized I never sent you...} except I use one can tomatoes, one can of Rotel, and one can of cream style corn. We don't care for beans, either. I actually made our first pot of it for the Fall a few weeks ago and took a pic, but never posted the recipe. Too darn busy these days!!
We LOVE Taco Fiesta Soup here, too. However, we put in a three cans of beans (light red kidney, black, and chili). I use Mexi-corn and white corn in mine.
While I don't get the Ranch either, it sure does taste yummy! We made our first batch last week, and I always freeze several containers of it (freezes/reheats great). I'm making another batch Wednesday! :)
I actually use that in place of ground beef when I make tacos for myself!
Oh I love me some Taco Soup... Now I'm going to have to make some! I love ten-can dinners... dump, heat and eat!
YUMMY!
This does sound delicious. I'm so ready for crockpot cooking, but summer is resisting it's death and hanging on just a little bit longer. Come one FALL!
I make a soup similar to that and I made it last week. And we ate on it all week long. LOVE!
That sounds so yummy .. we don't get GG Southwestern Style Corn in Canada...so will have to get my sister to bring some back next time she goes to her vacation home in Florida ... I discovered so many new items that Target carries that we do not get here :( .... XO HHL
That sounds SOOOO good!!!! It's still like 90 degrees here so soup isn't exactly on our menu these days but once the weather cools down, you can bet I'm gonna make this!!!!!
ARen't you cute that you made your own?! I love it! WE'll have to try it!
I can handle that! :)
