Hallmark Cards & Turtle Burgers

*School starts on Wednesday.  I'm excited to have some peace & quiet during the day, but DREAD the morning rush & the homework hassle! Thank goodness my doc just upped the mg on my Xanax! and gave me 2 refills. This was my Internal MD, not my OB/GYN, who 2 years ago told me to "suck it up" when I asked for some meds.  She's back on my good list.

*Tomorrow is my cousin & his soon-to-be ex-wife's anniversary.  She was having an affair & burnt their house down on accident last year & said she hasn't be happy since before they had twins who just turned 2.  I wish Hallmark made a card that said "Happy Anniversary Homewrecker"! Yeah. I'm a little bitter.

*Before Sass started on her medicine, I told the littles to just be understanding when she was mean to them because we were working on "making her nice". Well the other day, she was being mean to Baby Girl & BG told her, "You need to take your medicine!" (but she already had)

*How & when did my 5-year-old learn how to work the DVR, because I have 25 episodes of Kick Buttowski recorded & I know I didn't do it!?!

*SueMac wrote the greatest post about Operation Beautiful yesterday.  This is an even better use of Post-Its than PINTs! I love this idea & plan to start doing this myself.  I makes me smile just thinking about it. Here's my 1st step in Operation Beautiful, just for you.

Post-Its should really make preprinted sticky notes with positive messages. How fabulous would that be!

*Words to live by:  "Develop your eccentricities while you are young. That way, when you get old, people won't think you're going gaga."
-- David Ogilvy

*Having a TURTLE-themed party?  I've found the perfect entree for your guests...
Turtle Burgers!
Handmade ground beef patties, topped with sharp cheddar cheese, wrapped in a bacon weave, then the next step, add hotdogs as the heads, legs with slits for toes and tail.

Next step. Place on an oven rack, covered loosely with foil and baked for 20-30 minutes at 400 degrees. A little crispy, not too crunchy...just how a turtle should be, no?

*Check out Our Crazy Little Life.  Kenna is crazy enough to ask me for advice on developing her mommy blog!  She's a sweet girl, so go follow her & tell her SSM sent you!

*Sassy's birthday is on the 28th, so I only have to listen to her talking about what she wants, what she wants to do & who she wants to invite for 3 more weeks! Isn't there a religion that doesn't celebrate birthdays?  And besides I should get some sort of credit since I had such a fabulous delivery. (read fabulous with sarcasm)

Happy Friday!

Those turtle burgers have been making the rounds big time here in Louisiana. My boss actually made some. He said they weren't bad. I said they should be cooked in the parking lot of the cardiac care center.

I think the turtle burgers look kind of cool and that really surprises me. Normally I think that stuff is gross.

And burning down the house? Did she someone about PPD?

I once came home from work and found a DVR full of Spongebob...I had no idea my little one knew how to set timers!

We start school Monday, and I'm ready for them to go back...but not for the homework and school functions.

Hahaha, those turtle burgers are awesome! My mom used to make "turtles" when we were out of hot dog buns. She would just split the hot dog down the middle and put it in the hamburger bun. Although... our turtles lacked heads and tails. lol. Not nearly as cool as those, and they were much less of a heart attack on a bun - how boring! lol

Uhm, I'm not sure what to think about the turtle burgers. I'm laughing hysterically (and I'm a little nauseated). Too funny!

You have one of THOSE ex-sister-in-laws too? My brother's ex-wife had an affair, got an incurable disease, told my brother she got it from a toilet seat, and then moved her boyfriend into their house. Classy all the way, that girl...
