Welcome to the Bash!

Blog Bash

Welcome to everyone visiting from Brittany at Not Your Average Teen's 1st Annual Blog Bash!  If your not, then you should join in on the Blog Bash!  Brittany IS not your average teen, she is a very remarkable young lady.

For all you newbies, let me introduce myself...

Hey y'all!  I am a 30-something, stay-at-home momma to 3 beautiful children & wife of 12 years to my wonderful, hard-working farmer husband (who our friends say spoils me).  We live in small town Georgia where we I spend my days cleaning house entertaining, chauffeuring & totally involved in my children.  All of our family lives near us, my in-laws live next door! I stay active in my church, community & the children's school.

Sounds like I'm one of those mom's right? not.so.much.  My house is ALWAYS a wreck, except for the first 5 minutes after the housekeeper leaves.  I have to be in the mood to cook & that doesn't happen every day. I have days where my children eat cereal 3 times a day & days when they eat fast food twice a day.  I scream & holler & sometimes say ugly words.  I'm medicated (Wellbutrin daily & Xanax when I'm about to lose my mind I get anxious) & I enjoy my libations (Martinis & "Pink Party Punch") from time to time. Sometimes my children look like homeless children & sometimes so do I.

Let me introduce the Semi-Slacker family...
This is Sassy, I call her that because that is what she is!!!  In this picture she is modeling an creation she designed herself.  She is a TOTAL drama queen & the main reason for the meds & loves attention! She enjoys the social aspect of school, where she enjoys cheerleading during Pee-Wee football season. She is 8 going on 18 9 (next month) & going into the 3rd grade.  We are in the process of having her tested for learning disabilities.

Bo is 5 & a half (Don't forget that half!) & going into kindergarten.  He is ALL boy!  Do you notice that boo-boo on his face?  It never fails, here recently, that he has an injury on his face every time he's going to be photographed!  He had a huge rug burn on his forehead for spring pictures. He loves sports! I loves basketball, had fun playing t-ball & can't wait till he's big enough to play football & golf!  I think I'm going to sign him up for soccer too.  He is a bit of a nerd. He totally hogs the computer!  He knows a plethora of useless information, but forgets to fluss the toilet.

And THIS is Baby Girl!  She might be the baby, but she's running the show.  Everybody, I mean everybody- even strangers, say she is going to give us a run for our money. She's 3 & can be sweet as sugar or mean as a snake at the drop of a hat. If she's got her hands on her hips, you're in trouble.  She's a ballerina in training.  and a mini-cheerleader.

Finally the hubs, I call him Retro because he's totally stuck in the 80s it's a play on his name & some of our friends call him that on the golf course.

Isn't this a good picture?
Just kidding!  This was taken at White Trash Couples Bunko a few years ago!  The bad thing was, everybody said I looked natural!

Now a little Q&A...

1.) Why do you blog?  To get my daddy's monies worth out of my journalism degree.  Yes, I have a degree in journalism. No, you can't tell by my writing skillz.  Really, I started blogging because I was getting so much help when I tried to scrapbook I wasn't getting anywhere!

2.) What do you blog about?  I write about family activities, crazy things the children do & basically whatever's rattling around in my head.  Sometimes I like to do memes when they're fun.  From time to time I will do product reviews & giveaways.

3.) What do you find to be the biggest reward you get from blogging?  I really enjoy going back & reading about & seeing pictures of some of the crazy things that happen around here, like the time Baby Girl got stuck in the ottoman of the glider rocker!  And getting to "know" all the great people I have in the blog world.

4.) How long have you been blogging?  Two years on the 22nd of this month!  I just realized that!

5.) Let's hear the story behind your blog title! :)  I read the book Confessions of the Slacker Mom & she talked about not signing her children up for any activities, not getting involved at their school & since I DO do that kind of stuff, I decided I'm only a SEMI slacker mom.

Thanks for stopping by & hope you'll come again!

I loved this "getting to know you" post! It's funny because we, as bloggers communicate with so many, and yet, to really get to know each other is something so special...ok, I'm getting teary-eyed...
Btw, let me stroke your ego for a moment: you sure are puuurdy! Love that pic of you and your daughter...oh and the one of you posing as white trash. Very chic!

Hi there! I came over from the Blog Bash. I'm now following you - you are too funny! I have a love for Georgia that not many people understand. I lived in Augusta for 6 yrs for middle/part of high school - but have traveled to many of the small towns there and I would just LOVE to move there one day with my family. I love the south period - but GA is definitely my favorite!
Have a great day! I can't wait to read more!
