Friday Fragments on Saturday

Now don't act like it surprises y'all that I'm a day behind.

*Is it bad if the umpire learns your child's name during the game?  And uses it.

*I find it kind of ironic that the anniversary of the birth control pill is on the same day as my wedding anniversary?  Wouldn't the "happy pill" be more appropriate?

*What are your thoughts on this video?  I'm all for dance, gymnastics & cheerleading, as are my girls, but I kinda think this is a bit much.

However, I will admit than I'm a bit of a prude.  I wouldn't let (or rather didn't encourage) Sass sing "Party in the USA" in the school talent show.  I had a cute little number from Annie all planned out in my head. But that's a story for another day.

Watch CBS News Videos Online

*We have a pond behind our house & yesterday, Bo told Baby Girl that she better not go down there because there's alligators (there's not) & alligators eat small mammals & you're a small mammal.  yeah. he's a nerd.

*Emma Ruth is moving into an assisted living center at the beginning of the month (right after she turns 91). That's how much better she is doing!

Yesterday, Momma took me over to preview. It's one of the nicest ones in our area, but I totally had flashbacks of the first time I entered my dorm room at Bell Hall! Then we went shopping for a cute bedspread & some sort of shelf-thing to put her 26" tv on.  I feel like it was the summer of 93 all over again. I even had to take a Xanax.

*I usually stick at this, but recently two of my newest blog friends, Sabreena at The Maternal Experiment & mFw at Prissy & Preppy Flamingo both gave me this award.

I like this award because I really do see myself as very versatile.  I can easily relate to all different situations at the drop of a hats.  Just look at my blog roll.  I have my preppy friends, my Southern girls, my mommy friends, some very interesting friends.  That how I am in real life too.  Everybody always says I'm a go with the flow kind of person. Unless I firmly believe in something, then there's no changing my mind. If you leave a comment about how you are versatible, then you can have this award!

*We have a winner for the Tooth Soap giveaway....Candid Creations.  Congrats!

*Y'all please enter my Inner Goddess giveaway & don't forget Mission Monkey!

That video is horrible - I cannot imagine parents allowing their girls to do that and truthfully I wouldn't want to dance that way at 18 let alone at 7. And, those outfits?

Hope you have a great weekend!

I do have to say those girls are good dancers. However, I think being that good they probably could have easily rocked out a more tasteful performance with age appropriate clothing and music!

Alivia will be 7 in November, and I would NEVER in a million years allow her to wear that outfit, or do those dance moves!

Oh my goodness!! First, what are they wearing?? Have their parents lost their minds?

That video is disgraceful! I would never allow my daughter to do that.

Terrible!

I totally think that video is borderline child pornography, and any parent who would allow that needs to be committed (or investigated.)

Good to know about Emma Ruth :)

Better late than never...

That video is just the worst.

People have lost their minds.

Let's advocate for kids here!

(you are cracking me up with the birth control comment :)

Oh.My. That video was disgusting. The sad thing is that their parents probably think it's real cute. But, then again, they're probably those kind of parents that will spend thousands of money on their kids' 16th birthday, too!

Horrendous video; I am all for kids performing if that's what they want to do but dressed like little girls; they grow up fast enough as it is!
I just became a follower and I hope I am versatile; you will have to check me out!
Have a positive week..

That video was appalling! And I am far from a prude. How can this society be all up in arms about child porn and then allow their children to participate in this? Much less post it on you tube! I bet more than one jackass has gotten his jollys off of it. Disgusting. This reminds me of the quote "if you aren't part of the solution, then you are part of the problem." My 9 year old wouldn't even be allowed to WATCH this video.

I think the umpire learning your kid's name could be a very good thing, or a very bad thing! lol
That video makes me sick to my stomach. Ugh!

I'm so not a fan of distasteful (is that a word) dancing. With the sexual innuendos. It's too much! There are plenty of non-sexual dance moves that kids can do!

And, the alligator statement is too much!

That video is sick. The costumes are def. inappropriate!! It makes me ill to think of who might be viewing it on YouTube.

Teresa Dawn said...

The costumes and dance is way to over the top but I have to say, the girls are very good dancers. Too bad their parents/choreographers can't come up with something much more age appropriate.

I am horrified that a mother would allow her SEVEN year old to wear that. I can't even say clothes because that is sexy lingerie on a CHILD. It is child porn and it is disgusting. I am sorry, I am not going to sugar coat it. I am horrified. Our society has gone more downhill than I thought!
