I am a Socialite! and more.

Even if it is just in Smalltown, GA!

1. Who is your style icon? I don't know that I have an icon.  My style is usually preppy comfortable.  A lot of vintage J.Crew & GAP.

2. What is your favorite socialite lit book? Social Climbers, of course. But really, I barely have time to read blogs much less books.

3. Favorite party theme? I love themed parties!  I couldn't even begin pick a favorite. From the food, to the decorations & sometimes even the outfits every must match the theme.

4. Go to Halloween costume? a black cat.  Black pants, black t-neck, black tail (ties around the waist), black foam ears bobby-pinned in my hair & a monogrammed necklace (as my tag).

5. Extravagance you cannot live without? Pedicures

6. Living person you admire? my grandmother

7. Greatest Fear? Something happening to my children

8. Trait you deplore in yourself? I'm a pack rat & a short fuse with my children.

9. Which talent would you most like to have? Organizational skills

10. Greatest Achievement? my children

Thanks to Preppy 101 & Fabulously Chaotic for this honor!

Diary of a Diva Mom  honored me with the HONEST SCRAP award, but since y'all already know plenty of honest crap about me, I'm breaking the rules.  Or just click on my 100 things & pick 10.

And my girl, Entertaining Mom gave me the HAPPY 101 award.  She's recovering from should surgery, so I think she's highly medicated! :)  But I love her!  And she's an awesome cook too!

I hosted Bunko last night!  Thank you girls for the much needed distraction!  I served lasagna, Olive Garden salad, garlic bread, brownies & chocolate chip & pecan cookies (my favorite)! I didn't think to take pictures until one of the girls said something, but by then half the food was gone.

I wore this dress that I got last week at my favorite boutique, Two Friends.

And the prizes were cutesy signs & frames with polka dots & cute sayings.  Like- When life gives you lemons, grab the vodka! or If the ice melts, you're drinking too slow & Pets welcome, children must be kept on a leash! The frames said: This is life lived to the fullest!

Do y'all think I am crazy making everybody start calling Baby Girl her first & middle names together.  We had only been using her middle name, but she is named again my grandmother & now I want that name to be used too.

Y'all know how I am.  I gave birth to her & she almost killed me afterward, so I feel like I can call her whatever I damn well please.  And I expect people to respect my decision.  Her father doesn't even get a vote.

Why am I acting like this?  Because my grandmother (Emma Ruth), who everyone says I am exactly alike, is dying.  She will be leaving the hospital today or tomorrow with Hospice. And as of now, her mind is still good.

I'm sure I will have to okay the outfit I wear to the funeral with her.  She will wear the dress she wore in my wedding. The Xanax bottle will most definitly need a refill after all this.

Can we serve cocktails at the visitation?  She wouldn't mind.  She is my WASPy Steel Magnolia.

She & I at her 90th birthday party in June

Congratulations on your awards, you are definitely a southern belle:)

I love your dress, but I think you may have a typo since you said you got it last week from your favorite "bouquet." I don't usually point out errors, but I laughed out loud when I read it:)

I'm sorry about your grandmother. I used to work for Hospice, and it is wonderful, you will be glad to have them their for her. Oh, and I definitely think you can serve cocktails at the visitation:)

I am so sorry to hear about Emma Ruth. It's so sad and I hope you can spend as much time with her as possible. Grandparents are the BEST and it sucks when it's there time to go home. Hugs XOXO

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. It is so hard to loose those we love. I can't help to think of what a wonderful blessing she has been given by spending so much with her family and getting to know the great granddaughter named for her. I doubt her spirit will leave with her and believe she will continue to make an impact on you for years to come.

Oh my gosh. I love the 'If life gives you lemons, drink vodka' sign : ) That is too cute. Funny!

Also love that your Grandma is still here with you. I miss mine so much. Every day I miss them!

LoL at being medicated... NOT sharing!!! ;)

Sorry about your grandmother... It is so hard, isn't it? I love that photo though...

You call your children whatever you damn well please... once they push large, hard, round objects from their who-whos they can choose whatever names they desire. This one is all yours babe!

So sorry about your grandmother sweetie! Will be thinking about you! If you need anything you be sure to let me know. On a lighter note...I love the dress and the whole idea of both names! People thought I was crazy with LB, but who cares? They belong to us...we birthed 'em and we will call them dog and cat if we want, right?
