Barhopping & car wrecks at church

Don't you enjoy it when I do random titles!

Y'all know I've had a rough week, so Saturday night my besties & I had a GNO (Girls Night Out).  I wasn't the only one stressed out, A1 got in a throw down with M on Tuesday about her ballet clothes (y'all with boys just don't know). A2 was scrapping with her hubs on Thursday because he wanted to put a metal shed thing to cover his boat in her front yard. And B, well her ex is a dead-beat so that's reason enough.

We even got a teen to drive us.  We meant business.  We got to Outback just in time for Happy Hour. Coincidence?  Have y'all tried their Tropical Relief Martini?  If you love martinis like me, you must.  The blueberry one, not hittin' on much.  After that & a stop at Target, we decided to go a bar.  That's where things went downhill.

#1 we were in the wrong (local) town to go to a bar.  We were in unchartered territory & even the territory we did chart was many kids years ago.

Bar 1:  $5 cover (it's a restaurant too, WTH) & not the right crowd.
Bar 2:  Again, not the right crowd. and I believe we were a bit overdressed. and too skinny
Bar 3: $10, but looked like a winner.  Popular band playing. Apparently everyone else thought it was the place to be too.  We were the last 4 let it.   After trying to get a drink for 10 minutes, (because the buzz wore off at Target) we decided it was not the place to be.  We asked for a refund. and got it. Plus we were probably the youngest ones there.

How sad? Four 30-something ladies trying to barhop.  Let me just tell you this ain't Sex & the City.  But, B did look kind of Samantha-ish in her cute black top!

I did manage to make it to church on Sunday with all 3 children in tow. No, Retro is not as regular a church attender as I.  After church, there was a dinner but we decided to skip because we were headed to see Emma Ruth.  As I was picking the children up from children's church, my friend asked me if I knew whose car a certain one was.  Now this is the part y'all ain't going to believe.  unless you've been reading for a while then it probably figures.

One of the ladies in the church HIT my OTHER grandmother's PARKED car.  My daddy had already left & my mother was with ER, so guess who was left to help deal.  Yours truly.  Much thanks to one of the Bunko Hubs for "handling" the situation. I took pictures, but can't find the camera & don't know how to get the ones I took with my phone - off.

Emma Ruth did have a good day yesterday.  She was able to put on some makeup & eat a little.  What kills me the most is that her mind is still sharp as ever. well for a 90-year-old.  I was wearing the dress from the previous post & she said it was too short.  Imagine that.  My uncle & aunt are coming tomorrow & my cousin on Friday.  They live in North Carolina.  That's some drama in itself.

Thank you so much for all your prayers.

Sounds like quite the evening, lol! Sometimes the random nights with the girls are just what you need, though!

What a weekend!! The buzz wearing off at Target was funny. I have to keep the buzz going because any breaks and I just lose the ability. Congrats on making it to church after the long night. That had to be quite a feat.

I'm praying for Emma Ruth.

I'm glad you were able to attempt a gorls night. Sometimes i find just getting out with my friends is the best even if the bar sucks.

What a weekend! I'm 25 and have a tough time bar hopping too. I just don't know how to do it outside a college town!

Well, did you ever get to tie one on on Saturday, or what?!

That's hilarious that your grandma said the dress was too short:)

Whew! Crazy times!! I am not surprised that Emma Ruth is still on top of every situation. I kid you not - my grandfather was at death's door and asked me what that stuff was on my eyelids {I believe we call it eyeshadow}. Grandparents are no doubt the best!! xoxo

I've always said you gotta have your guard up doubly at church - ha! And srsly I laugh every time someone writes GNO.... cause when you sorta pronounce it in your mind it sounds like GYNO which is so NOT fun...but GNO = loads of fun. ha!
