Because I'm domestic & all...

Okay.  Stop laughing. I may not cook a lot, but I love to read recipes! And I have a couple of recipes I've been wanting to post for a while so no time like the present. Plus I'm trying to clean up my computer desk & they're in the way.

The first one is from my fabulous friend Mark Ballard.  He's a cook, crafter & comedian all rolled into one wonderful Southern gentleman.  He always asks about my momma & them.  My daddy grows camellias & Mark loves them!

Chocolate Stuff (or Chocolate Cobbler)
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. butter
1 stick butter
2 T. Hershey's cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
chopped pecans (optional)

Beat eggs well & combine with sugar & flour.  Add salt & set aside. Melt butter & combine with cocoa. Dump butter/cocoa mixture into other mixture & mix well. Add vanilla & nuts.  Pour into a greased loaf pan. Set this pan into a pan of water & bake at 300 degrees for 40-50 minutes. When top is crunchy, it's done. Eat with ice cream or whipped topping immediately.

And if you love Girl Scout cookies as much as I do, you might want to try this recipe that I found in our newspaper.

Fried Samoas Shrimp
4 extra large shrimp, peeled & deveined
5 Samoas Girl Scout cookies, finely chopped
2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
2 c. flour
1 c. coconut flakes
4 eggs whites
1 pinch cayenne pepper

Toss coconut flakes with bread crumbs, cayenne pepper & chopped Samoas.
Dredge shrimp through flour, followed by egg wites & cookie mixture. Fry shrimp until golden brown.

Okay, so I haven't exactly make these recipes, but I did buy the ingredients for the shrimp. And every one of Mark's recipes that I have made have been delish!

So y'all Betty Crocker get to cooking & let me know what you think!

I do have a secret ingredient for chili.  And everybody says mine is yummy! If you want to know, I'll might share.

I also found this site for all kinds of chocolate recipes around Valentine's Day.

This is as close to a food blog as I will ever get! One post!

Haha! One food post will beat me I'm sure! The shrimp sounds yummy, but let's face it. I'll never make it. I LOVE shrimp but the fam doesn't. Not that I'd make it anyway. :)

oh yum! those recipes look delish :)

and about your daughter and the chores? i did TONS of chores when i was little, starting at about eight (basically once i was capable of doing them) - set/clear the table, load/unload dishwasher, vacuum the stairs, and my all time favorite, straighten the fringe on the persian rug. yes.

my parents were always really serious about holding back freedom 'till we got our chores done - if that meant we were late for playdates, then we should've started our chores earlier and not spent so much time complaining about them! haha good luck :)

Sounds tasty! I wouldn't be able to keep the GS cookies in the house long enough to make the recipe though :(
