The road to hell

is often paved with good intentions. I don't know who said that first, but I find myself saying it all the time.

I got too cocky yesterday. Either that or I overdid it. I'm thinking the overdid it part. Because I forgot to mention that I made french toast for breakfast. with homemade Cracker Barrel syrup. and fresh baked Sunbeam bread.

This morning a woke up with a bit of a cold. I'm sure I owe my thanks to Baby Girl for that. And my turkey wasn't thawing fast enough, I insisted on a 20 pounder, so I had to move it upstairs to take up half my sink. I should have used the bathtub. works on tv.

I had planned on making some clay crap from Family Fun, but instead I locked the children on the screened porch with some contraband Play-Doh.

Sassy spent the night with the in-laws & is spending the rest of the day with my folks. Praise the Lord! There was enough drama in the 45 minutes she was here to last the whole week.

I let the littles make turkey cookies. Not like the guy makes on Nogin, the break & bake with the turkey on them. That kept them busy, fighting over the placement of the cookies, for a good 10 minutes. Then PTL for Toot & Puddle.

Made the Oreo Truffles. Now I remember why I never make them. They are a pain in the arse to do. Simple recipe & I guess if you are not a Lindt chocolate school drop-out, you may not have any problem. But the only thing I can do good with chocolate is eat it.

Luckily, we are not all about appearance here (if we were, I be in some major trouble right about now b/c let me assure you, I look like hell). Anyway... they taste yummy, but look like crap. Literally.

I'm sure glad I don't have anyone to impress tomorrow because my house is a wreck & I'm just not feeling it.

Y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Awww, cheer up! Honestly, it seems like everytime I try to be the best mom in the world, it backfires, and I end up going postal. So, the semi-slacker road seems to work better for me!

What went wrong with the Oreos? Did you put them in the fridge or freezer for awhile before dipping them in the chocolate? That seems to work better. I've made them with white chocolate before, and that's delicious too.

Happy Thanksgiving!

OMG ROTFLMAO Your sense of humor kills me! I gave up a long time ago trying to be the perfect mom with the perfect children. It might have been possible if I had stopped procreating after my first born. But once #2 came along things started to go awry and then when #3 hit age three I didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of having the picture perfect life I had dreamed of. Now I settle for so much less and am so less stressed out (oh hell I am still stressed, but what can you do?!). Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I love your blog!

Oh man, you sound like how I was the morning of Thanksgiving! I got started in the kitchen early that day and totally forgot I was still wearing my jammy bottoms, tank top with no bra and no make-up when Tim said, "Uh, you might wanna change your clothes...my parents will be here any minute".

Here, here...let the holiday fun begin!!

Love your sense of humor!!

In the car tonight, in a goofy mood, Kendall asked, "Why don't they make poop-flavored jelly beans?" (You know, because Harry Potter jelly beans come in all those gross flavors like booger, vomit, etc.) and Mr.4444 replied, "They do. Rabbits make them. Or deer, maybe." Sorry, but your "looked like crap" comment made me think of this. Hope your Thanksgiving was nice, in spite of your efforts, haha.
