Friday Fragments...because I still can't complete a thought

And today is the 70th Friday Fragments hosted by Mrs. 4444. Well not my 70th, but hers. One day...maybe.

Anyway, here's some pieces & bits (that you haven't already heard about) from the Semi-Slacker's week.
----------------------------------------------------------

I know lots of you facebook, but seriously, think about who all are your "friends".

I'm "friends" with people that I wouldn't talk to or wouldn't talk to me if I saw them on the street. And I'm not even talking about my blog friends or people that don't live around here. Like my husband's ex-girlfriend. I would say my ex's wife, but I talk to her.

Facebook uses the term "friend" VERY loosely! I don't even know if acquaintance is the right word.
----------------------------------------------------------

Now if you're a longtime reader, you know I am/was a big fan of Girls Next Door. All things Playboy intrigue me. I'm weird like that.

If I was 15 years younger, 6 inches taller, 10 lbs. lighter, had a flat stomach & perky boobs & I didn't think know everyone that knows me would have a stroke, I might like to pose for Playboy. maybe. with clothes on for sure. but I guess we'll never know.

Where was I going with this? Oh yeah. If the "new batch" were the girls next door to me, I'd move. Do y'all watch?

Those twins are nerve-racking. Dumb as bricks. They make Kendra look like a rocket scientist. And pull-ease, if you are going to dye your hair blond, do something to those black eyebrows. Well I guess if you can't hide stupid, you can't hide dark hair either.

And Crystal. She's just a Holly-wannabe. It's kind of sad. Well, sad for a reality TV star living in the Playboy mansion.
-------------------------------------------------------

Move over Snuggie, make room for...

The Slumber Sack! It has arms AND legs!

I'll take mine in Lilac or Rosemary.
-------------------------------------------------------
Chick-fil-a has come out with my seasonal favorite...

the Peppermint Chocolate Chip milkshake!

Yummy!

And since we go to Chick-fil-a ALL. THE. TIME, I should be able to get my fill of this goody by Christmas.

------------------------------------------------
Every time I'm cooking, I have to hunt for my spanking sticks wooden spoons. Wonder why?
------------------------------------------------
Baby Girl's newest favorite thing to say is "I love you whole life". Don't know where she got that one from, but it sure is cute.

Most of the time.
-------------------------------------------------

Big question: At what age do you have to give up the big Santa secret? I had to "pinkie promise" Sass that there was a Santa.

I told her there was no way I was buying them all that crap.

I was in a mood that day, so I think she bought it.

Any ideas to reassure her that he really does exist?
-------------------------------------------------

I've got almost 300 followers. I wonder how many really read.

If I can get 50 comments on this post, I'll pick a winner & send them a little holiday happy!

What do y'all think?
-------------------------------------------------

My good friend, Amber bought Sass this ornament back from NYC.

How much do you love it? I can't decide if I'll put it on the pink tree or the big tree.

----------------------------------------------
Bo's all dressed up for his Teddy Bear Tea Party.

And I couldn't resist. Sass took this picture.

We're going to attempt Christmas card pictures tomorrow. You may need to say a prayer for me tonight. The Xanax will be calling my name.

You gave the same answer I did about Santa. I also gave the "Why would you ask that" question right back. I was in a mood too :)
Love Sass' Ornament-too cute!
Love the pic of Beau-he is sooo cute. My hub got a cute pic of my Beau today snoozing on the steps to the kids room-he doesnt come down all the way because of the Indoor Invisible Fence-so he just slept on the step.

I finally gave up and told the truth to my youngest (8/9) over this past summer. Yes, I said summer. She was just so distraught about it I couldn't lead her on any more. Don't get me wrong she has been questioning Santa for a long time. Each year I would make sure Santa brought things that I said there was absolutely NO WAY I would bring "that" into our house (floam, silly putty, pooping reindeer toy you get the idea). I still finished the conversation saying "If you don't believe he won't come but this gets me off the hook." I think my son was convinced and the gig was up somewhere around 2nd grade but he was a great sport about keeping the secret.

Ultimately I think it is different for each kid. They are only little once and once the mystery is gone it can not be retrieved. My vote is get as much mileage out of it as you can. Who knows though maybe I have emotionally scared my kids for life. They will just take it out on me when I am in the old folks home.

My little brother figured out that santa wasn't real when he was like 3 so it has been a long time since we have had him in this house!

I don't remember what age us kids were when my parents broke the news that Santa wasn't real. I think every kid is different - my BFF's son believed until he was something like 11 years old. I'm surprised his friends at school didn't spoil the news - or maybe he did know and decided to play along so his mom wouldn't be sad...heh, heh!

LOVE the ornament!

We need to do Christmas Card pictures, too... good luck tomorrow! :)

Happy FF! :)

Everytime the question comes up about Santa I say the same thing. Sometimes Santa needs some help. We believe in the spirit of Santa and we give gifts to others. If you believe in the spirit of Santa then it's all good. They just look at me like I'm nuts but at least my lips are moving.

I keep my facebook to a minimum. I ignore lots of requests from people that I went to college or school with that I have no real contact with at all. I only have family and friends on facebook and it works great for me. My sister in law has 500 or more friends and I bet that's fun trying to weed through.

That slumber sack has my name all over it. Now if they could just attach a pillow to it...

I wish Facebook had a catergory for "people who I like to stalk" dont' want top ever comment on their page or talk to them, just want to see what they are up to, or see if they got fat! lol

Right there with you on Facebook. I have friended way too many people that I really don't want to hear me vent. The picture of the dog is adorable , how is house training.I have always wanted a bulldog. Blog about him, he's a big piece of eye-candy!

I saw that slumber sack in a catalog this week, too. LOL! I, myself, quite like it as well! I never cared for the Snuggie thing...but this one...this one I could do! :)

Hope your pictures go well. I attempt to take ours every year, and I haven't decided if I'll do it or just pay someone this time. We'll see!

Just make sure my holiday happy comes from the same place hubby got the rocks from!! Ha!

I can't answer your Santa question because I'm still reeling from the fact that you talk to your man's ex! Woo!

I need one of those milkshakes!

I have.to.have. one of those milkshakes, pronto. Too bad the closest Chick-fil-A is 1200 miles away.

BG's proclamation of love reminds me of the Vietnamese hookers in Platoon--"Me love you long time"--please don't be offended! My mind is just twisted that way.

Since I'm the 13th commenter on Friday the 13th you can feel free to just send me that gift! Ahem.

I LOL'd about the missing wooden spoons. I can't imagine where they are?!

And I don't have an answer to the Santa thing. I wish my kids would figure it out so I can tell them we're poor and can't buy them much for Christmas this year. They have dreams of Christmas' past and the wallet just ain't havin' it this year!

Oh, I am with you on the Xanax-posed picture connection. When I take pictures of my two boys, drinks are involved. Explains a lot about the quality of the pictures, actually.

Nice blog!

We had chocolate-peppermint milkshakes today. I was so excited when I saw that they're back. (Obv. I have no life. )

I am right there with you on the Facebook thing. Today I "friended" my sis-in-law who doesn't even speak to me because my bro-in-law asked me to...and because I felt some weird obligation. Annoying.

I count down the days until the Peppermint Chocolate Chip milkshake comes out! Yummy!!!

I have no help on the Santa subject, my daughter never did believe in him.

That sleep sack is killing me. I totally want one *L*

I think Facebook needs to rename the "friends" to "people I only sorta know" ;)

Carolee / Home4ever said...

Oh, I hate the Santa thing. We parents don't want it to end!

The kids want the truth, but then are crushed when they hear it!

DysFUNctional Mom said...

I sort of let the kids believe until they realized own their own that it wasn't real.
I would not friend my ex's wife or my hubby's ex on facebook for all the money in the world. LOL
