On the brighter side...

Sorry for the depressing post yesterday, but thank you to everyone for all your sweet comments & prayers. I'm sure Kimberly & her family would appreciate knowing that people that don't even know them are praying for them.

Anyway...here's some random thoughts.

*I was looking at Cake Wrecks & seriously, can you get a refund for a ugly wedding cake? I loved my cake. Didn't like the taste, pound cake. I may be weird but I'm not a big fan of pound cake. unless it's covered with strawberries or ice cream. Did any of y'all have bad cakes?

*Sometimes being helpful can lead to being taken advantage of, even at church.

*I'm training Buck (the Lab) & Beauregard for the Invisible Fence that we just got installed. Buck was trained to one when he was a puppy & thankfully he remembers how it works.

But yesterday, during training he got shocked. bad. I freaked out. I thought it was going to be just a sting. apparently not. He hasn't been the same since! Finally this evening, we got him to play. But rest assured, he ain't going near those little white flags.

*Being the Domestic Goddess that I am, I made my new favorite recipe tonight. I'm calling it Semi-Slacker's Shrimp Pasta

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1.5 lbs. shrimp, peeled & deveined (I used a bag of cooked shrimp from the freezer section, which was really 2 lbs., & just defrosted & took off the tails)
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (FYI-a clove is one little piece, not the whole thing)
  • 12 oz. spaghetti, cooked, drained

Melt the butter in a lg. skillet. Add the shrimp, mushrooms & garlic. Saute & serve over spaghetti. Trust me. It rocks!!!

*Do any of you Betty Crockers know how I could make the sauce thicker? Jess?

*Homecoming is this week. We've had jersey day, fairytale day, twin day & tomorrow's a hoedown. Friday, like every other Friday, is green & gold day. Monday morning Sass & Bo had a throw-down over the GA jersey. The rest of the days, he could care less.

Sass & the cheerleaders will be in the parade Friday night, so we're hoping for no rain. Retro's 20th reunion is this weekend too. I'm sooo ready for Saturday night's party! The jury's still out on my outfit. The weather is so screwy around here.

*Lately, Baby Girl has been saying 'adios and vaya con dios' & she didn't learn that from Dora. (my country fans will understand)

*I'm thinking I need to switch from Wellbutrin to Lexapro. Any thoughts?

SupahMommy is hosting something fabulous on Friday. Say tuned for bLerApy.

I'm working on changing my blog around, but I'm too tired to finish. If any of y'all want to design my blog, let me know. SERIOUSLY!!!!

I am a big fan of Lexapro but it's different for everyone...give it a shot.

Love the polka dots! And to thicken the sauce I believe either flour or cornstarch will work.

Poor doggie! My moma always said that cornstarch thickens things up!

P.S. My friend swears by Lexapro.

Getting ready to train new our new puppy to our electric fence. Our boxer is so trained that she hardly needs her collar. But I am nervous about that first shock for the puppy. He is so sweet and don't want to see him get his first hit!

Check your insurance. Lexapro is a nonformulary drug for me. There is no generic so it costs $75 to $100 a month. At least Wellbutrin does come in generic form.

Just food for thought.

I used to take Lexapro for anxiety and it worked very well for me. I have had anxiety all my life and I think that medicine worked the best for me.
I always wondered how dogs learned about invisible fencing! I guess they just get shocked enough to know not to go near the flags :)

Ooh, I love Cake Wrecks. And can I just tell you that at one point I emailed them a true story about a cake I made once and they published in their book this fall????
