Am I a prude?

Sass wants to dress-up like Alex from Wizards of Waverly Place for Mickey's Halloween Party. But I have a perfectly good princess costume for her to wear, just like her baby sister. I mean, I'm going to be Alice & I'm 35. Should I let her? We wouldn't see anybody we know, but they'll be tons of pictures!!

If not Alex or Aurora, what? We only have like 2 weeks.

And Hannah Montana is a definite hell to the NO!

You have to see my post.. I just posted on what we are being at Disney for Halloween. I am Cinderella this year and they are going to be Aurora-Sleeping Beauty. For their school celebration they want to be something else. At Disney-- I told them that they could not get in to Disney, unless they were Princesses. Little whopper here and there.... what can I say?? Bad MOM:(
Who is Alex???
xxxx me

I'm NO help! I will have a chicken and Repunzel this year. But I would be okay with Alex from Wizards. It's just Halloween....

I remember when K went from Princess to Goth Bride-it sucked!
I can see where you are coming from-as they start having their own ideas, the battles begin.
I have no advice, I decided that she is getting older and could make-more or less-her own decisions. However, we weren't going to Disney (AKA, The Golden Land). Best of luck-make sure you update!!

I guess my opinion is different from yours. I let my 8 year old be Hannah Montana last year and my son the grim reaper. I don't think Hannah Montana is too grown up or too sexy. I thought the grim reaper was too scary but he promised to not wear the mask at church or when little kids were around so mostly it was a black torn up robe. Good luck deciding!

My biggest baby is BEGGING to be Hannah Montana for Halloween... my reaction is about the same as yours! She told me a month ago that she wanted to be Tinkerbell- my story is that the costume is already ordered. :D Good luck

I wouldn't let Rebecca be Hannah Montanna either last year. Now she is over it. Has no interest. The costumes definitely get harder as they get older. Why can't they all stay little and cute for Halloween?

My mom lets my sister dress up as really stupid things from the TV and it makes me really mad...lil sis is going to look back and be embarrassed.

I think that princesses and Alice will be great. Hope she comes around...

Bribe her lol. Hey at least it's not Bratz dolls... my nieces have been those before and it's not a pretty sight...
Pick your battles though, it's not worth a melt down.

Are we supposed to dress up for the Disney Halloween party? I actually hadn't planned on that! I'd love to Alice! What a fun costume!

Couldn't she wear her Disney princess costume in Disney and then the other for school/trick or treating?

You're not a prude. I agree with you. We are having the costume battle right now.

Are you paying for it? Then you get to choose.

I agree with DD above. Do something else for other celebrations but you *have* to be a princess at Disney!!

I think I would go your route, too.
