Friday Fragments Finally

Busy, busy day & I'm finally getting a chance to sit down at the computer. But one of my children has been quite the character today, so here's what I've got plus some.

*Bo hasn't been going to sleep as early as he should. This may have something to do with the fact that he's sleeping in the sunroom & the sun's still up. So this morning after he moved from his bed to the sofa, I told him to get up & "I'm am not playing with you!". He told me, "I don't want to play with you either!" But you better believe he got his little fanny up & dressed after that comment.

*When I went to pick him up at school this afternoon, his teacher called my attention to the fact that he was wearing different shorts. Apparently, he was "tting on the fence" on the playground & didn't pull his pants down far enough & got some on his shorts. This boy went from stripping down to barely letting his tallytail poke out of the top of his pants. There is never a happy medium with this child.

*Retro went back to the furniture store with me (to make our purchases) before picking the children up, so we decided to take them out for an early dinner. At the Cracker Barrel. When asked what he wanted to drink, Bo told the waitress "a cheap bottle of wine". He picked that up from Darius Rucker. Retro had to call 3 friends, right then & tell them all about it.

*How do ya'll like this? I still need a comforter set & to decide what color to paint the room & bathroom. But this baby is KING-size!!! Woo-hoo!
*Does anyone know how to remove yourself from a thread on facebook? I don't hang out on FB, so I have it checked to receive emails when someone leaves me a message. And I have a group of friends (in my town) that LOVE FB & communicate with it instead of say, email or phone, but there are some people (you know, friends of friends)that I don't have anything in common with AT ALL. I don't know if they've got me in some kind of group of FB, like you can do in e-mails, but I keep getting invitations to birthday parties of kids my children don't even KNOW & such! I then I get sent every one's response. Some things I don't mine, but if they don't pertain to me, I don't care about it. I hate to be ugly, but this is getting on my nerves. And I hate to get off FB because I do kind of like it. Just not that much.

*Bo's room is looking too cute! His furniture should be here in about a week. Mine: week & a half to 2. We are SLOWLY but surely getting our house back in some symbolize of order. The only problem is that I'm going to have to move my computer out of my bedroom, which is the most convenient place for me. I'm getting a "message center" in the kitchen so I'm thinking I'll put in there.

*Sassy is having a slumber party for her birthday at the end of the month. My BFF is monogramming pillowcases for all the girls. But does anyone have any more FABULOUS ideas for a slumber party for a bunch of 7 & 8 year olds? We are doing Disney for Baby Girl's birthday, so Sass's has to be super special. She IS the jealous type.

Okay, I'm done & it's still Friday. So ya'll have a wonderful weekend & check out Half Past Kissin Time for more fragments.

They could each make their own little pizzas. You could buy the expensive premade crust, or buy the tub of it and make it a little more cheaply.

Also, they could all decorate their own cupcakes. Put out all the goodies for them to dig into. Or sugar cookies- that would take up a lot of time.

howdy!! If the invites for the party have not gone out yet...this is a cute idea for them...make water bottle labels and put all kinds of party info on them and give them out as the invites. BUT put on the label that it is special water to make them be able to stay up really late so they can't drink it until they are at the party. Stupid??

Hey Sweets - Try going up to the top right hand corner of your FB page and clicking on "Settings". I think by playing around with that, you might be able to get off those threads, etc.

I love your new furniture!! Can't wait to see your finished projects!!

xoxo

I LOVE your bedroom furniture and find myself so jealous at - yes - 4:00 AM as I type this! Can't sleep! But I have to ask...what kind of crack was Bo on today? LOL! Too funny!

Love the pillow case idea! What about pedi's and manis'? Little girls love that! But it would involve a few other adults if you do it yourself at home.

Just don't block me from your FB settings!!!

You could try the un-tie die with them... How many girls are coming? The girls would love it... will love the results even more and it's fairly mess free. You will have to handle the bleach, but they can tie the rubber bands.

My SIL had mini cakes made for her DD's slumber party and each girl decorated their own cake. Rebecca said it was a blast.

Scavenger hunts (make it a preppy one!) are always fun... as are home made obstacle courses... if any of these appeal to you shoot me an email as I have more ideas up my sleeve too!

Love the furniture!

Love Bo's request for a cbow. Priceless.

My 10 went to a sleepover a few weeks ago. They loved the mani pedi. They also got a pillow case and a white tshirt. They used fabric markers to decorate and sign each others tshirts.

My cousin did the exact same thing Bo did when he was in elementary school and he now goes to west point, so there is hope!

That bed is GORGEOUS!

Loved Gracie Beth's comment. Peeing at school? Yikes!

P.S. You might get some good birthday ideas here: http://www.halfpastkissintime.com/2008/11/scrolling-saturdays-another-little.html Kendall and her friends had a BALL!

Love, Love, Love the new bedroom furniture. I like that it looks a little "antique-y"....like that word? And I like the green in the living room too. Can't wait to see the finished project!

As the parent of a character (girl version) I can totally relate. When she was about 2 she would talk about drinking wine w/ her great grandma (a good Mormon woman who never had a drop of wine pass through her lips!) - I have NO idea where she got that but everyone though it was hilarious. Me, not so much. And it's only gotten more interesting. At least now she does understand when things aren't really appropriate.

Love the idea for the pillow cases at a slumber party. My daughter will be 8 in Jan and is already asking for a slumber party.

Your new furniture is beautiful! Enjoy!

Love your new bedroom furniture! I would like some new bedroom furniture, as well, and have very seriously thought about moving from a queen to a king-size bed. I know your house is going to be great when you get everything finished. I loved your paint colors. Don't you just love Darius Rucker? That comment was too cute!! Have a nice week. Love & blessings from NC!

You can try removing her as a "friend" from your f/b...it would be a lot nicer than hurting feelings by her reading your blog. BTW, nice furniture!!

I just figured it out...go under "friends list" find the person..click on and on the bottom left you will see the "remove" tag. That should stop you from receiving any info from the unwanted friendship. MM
