Friday Fragments & Freewrite

Okay, so it's more like ramblings but whatever.

*First thing. Enter my giveaway!!! See my sidebar.

*Conversation overheard this morning:
Sass- Bo, you wanna play with us?
Bo- Are we playing cats that don't have moms?
Sass- No, we're playing babies that don't have moms?
Do I some kind of pattern here?

*I now have proof that blogging pays off. Apparently, the powers that be at Nogin read my post concerning their programming schedule. Now my Nogin plays cartoons from sun up to sun down! And with perfect timing because Baby Girl is just getting into TV & she is LOVIN' some Mas & Rooby (Max & Ruby), Ty-lan (Kai-Lan) & Dora Flora (Dora the Explorer).

With my current housekeeper situation, the electronic babysitter is certainly welcomed.

*The housekeeper, that we hired when Matt Lizzie got sick, decided she needed to be payed more hours than she worked. She was adding hours to her time sheet. 30 hours adding. over a 2-week time period. Seriously. Here's the story, last Thursday she turned in her time to my MIL (who does the payroll) & Retro just happened to look at it. She had time down for 4 full days, starting a 8am (she never gets here b/4 9:30) & really she only worked about 1 1/2 days. Did she think we wouldn't notice? Retro sure notices when he comes home & the house is a wreck! He called her on it & we haven't seen her since, then yesterday she called for her separation papers. So, I guess she quit. Plus, she got us for an extra 9 hrs. the week before.

*Ya'll know we are country, so you shouldn't be surprised that Bo's favorite song of the week has the lyrics "She's rockin' a beer gut!" in it. He thinks that is hilarious, but he thinks (or prefers) the lyrics "She's wild with a beer gut!" So that's all he has been singing. (mixed in with a little Taylor Swift) All of his "favorite" songs include alcohol references or words he shouldn't say. Christian-based private school here he comes! I think I should buy him a IPOD full of Laurie Berkner songs.

*Our Disney issues have been resolved & we will be heading to Cinderella's house in September just in time for Baby Girl's birthday. But I do have one question. Has anyone ever been to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? I need some info.

*The home improvement plans are underway. As we speak, Kenny & crew are expanding my laundry/mudroom & framing up Bo's "mini man room". We have come to a compromise, only his XL closet/playroom will be the Island of Sodar.

And while the crew is working, Retro has decided to let them paint everything! That includes the kitchen, breakfast; dining & living rooms, sunroom & upstairs. So for the 1st time in 8 years, my interior will be painted something other than Antique White!

These are the colors I'm using:

I can't wait to have a party when all this is finished!!!

We went to the Mickey's Halloween thing about 5 years ago when they were about 4 and 6. What I remember is that the kids loved it. They got to wear their costumes. It was done in Disney style, so nothing scary. We stayed till the park closed. I remember them being wiped out the next day. I wish I could remember more but that was a bit to far back in my memory.

We ate lunch at the Village Cafe on Main Street in Blowing Rock. It is so beautiful to eat outside there!! The muffins are good at the Blowing Rock Cafe! The teachers will love Bo's songs at school this fall. LOL! One of the little 3 year old boys in my class several years ago raised his hand in circle time and told me that his Dad "drank some beer". I also had a little boy to tell me that his Dad never wore underwear. Believe me, I never looked at that Dad the same way again! Children are a hoot, aren't they? I hope the home improvement projects go well. Have a great weekend! Love & blessings from NC!

My daughter loves belting out 'Tequila makes her clothes fall off' - nice. I know they don't really understand the meaning of the songs but we sure do! Laurie Berkner sounds right on.

Love your fabric!!
