Always some drama...

If you know us personally or are a frequent reader, you know there is ALWAYS some kind of drama going on at the Semi-Slacker house.

This afternoon, Retro got bite by a "wild" kitten. And since we live in BFE the country, the vet wants them to "find" the cat & have it tested for rabies. If they don't find it, Retro may have to get the shots. for the 2nd time. Oh joy! Before you get to concerned, you need to know that to say these people overreact at all things medical is the understatement of the year.

If you were wondering where I was yesterday, I was losing my mind spending some quality time with my children. After we dropped Sass off at cheer camp, I had the brilliant idea to run some errands. Little did I know that Bo & Baby Girl were going to pick that day to act like they had absolutely NO home training.

Our 1st stop was this place that sold everything from pools & spas to swing sets & truck accessories. Whatever. I was looking for a center floor mat for the monogrammed Denali. Thank the Lord, that we were the only people in the store/warehouse. It only took the boy sales clerk 45 minutes to figure out how to order a simple floor mat. It is a miracle that one of my children did not take a swim in a spa or at the least break something.

Our next stop was to Old Navy to pick up this little number & another cute sundress.

The 1st 10 minutes were fine, but I have recently loss some weight & needed to try on some stuff. By the time I finished in the dressing room, my children had apparently loss their minds! I made a concerted effort to get them to the check-out as soon as possible & without incident. No such luck. Old Navy always keeps a door open, I don't know why & Baby Girl obviously thought "let's go" meant out the door because that's where she made a b-line to. Thank you Lord, once again, that there was a salesclerk standing near the door to deter her. This is why I rarely take them anywhere alone. Her Guardian Angel must work overtime!

After taking a Xanax picking up Sass, then some more drama that a won't go into & finally dropping Sass & Bo off at Babsy's, Baby Girl & I were off to our doctors for possible UTIs, diabetes, E. coli, whatever. They overreact remember. Let me just say that child has more energy than a case of Red Bull. She will talk your ear off & ask 20 questions about everything, including random people's names. I spent the afternoon either trying to reign her in or laughing at her hilarious comments.

By the time I got home, I was zapped! I need a case of Red Bull!

Edited to add: The kitten was found & will be tested tomorrow.

Oh Gosh... Hope Retro is OK... as for Sass, it's exhausting, isn't it? Rebecca talks my ear off too and sometimes I need a nap afterwards... or a glass of wine... or both! CHEERS!

I feel like I have had the exact same kind of week, and I only have one child to chase around. You, my dear, are SUPER MOM in my book!

Oh no! I am hoping he does not have to get the shots again! Also, I feel bad for laughing at your description of shopping with the kids but I could not help myself. My mom honest to goodness used to put me on a leash when I was little and we went shopping.

Thank goodness the kitten was found. I just hope Retro doesn't have to have the shots. I will pray for that! Sounds like you had a marathon day. I can remember days like that with my girls, but that has been a while for me. Baby girl is so precious! Love those questions. I have had children at preschool who would ask a million questions a day. Hang in there, summer is just beginning! Love & blessings from NC!

Glad they found the kitten. That said, I've never heard of anyone dying of rabies these days. Hope it all turns out well.

You described the daily life of a mother so well--I have wild kids too so I can definitely relate. I am all the time telling them they act they were raised by wolves or in a barn! I hope hubby is okay--I was bit my a wild cat as a child in Alabama and still have the scar over my left eye to prove it. I had to do the rabies shots and everything. I hope he is in the clear! Wish you lived closer so our hellions could raise Cain together. Then we could just sit back, drink some wine and laugh at them!

Wow! I'm worn out from reading about your day! I only have one 2-year old and I barely take her anywhere, much less two or three. You're my heroine! :-) Just stumbled across you site, love it!

Whew! That sounds like a day! Your Baby Girl and my sister sound like they're one in the same - my sister NEVER stops talking! She's sitting across from me now, debating out loud as to whether or not she should put on her bathing suit hours before pool time!

Thank goodness for gaurdian angels allright.

I hope there will not have to be shots! Better safe than sorry though!

Love the little dress pictured. Very cute. You already are tiny, so don't get too skinny or we won't be able to see you in pictures :)

When is peach harvesting season? Is that when your hubby is the busiest? I am peach naive.
