Weddings & Ramblings

Okay so I missed Friday Fragments this week, but here's the one I promised & an extra-

I've said before that Baby Girl has a HOT temper, so Monday after I took her to Dr. K we stopped by Kroger to buy a new humidifier. While we were there, she got mad at me (I don't even remember why) & she balled up her little fists, "growled" at me & told me she "was going to beat me up"! That's her new thing! Hot temper may be the understatement of the year.

Aside from his Thomas addiction, Bo's newest obsession is lizards. He has some kind of educational book all about them. I believe his favorite is the Blue-Tongued Stink. Lovely. And if you're interested (or not) he can tell you all about them.
---------------------------------
We've had a busy weekend! We hosted a picnic for our preschool play group on Friday, along with Teacher Breakfast at Sass's school. And we made the rounds at our town festival on Saturday & if you're from a small Southern town, you know all about these.

We also attended 2 weddings this weekend. And I must say that May is a wonderful month to get married in (this has nothing to do with the fact that my anniversary is on the 9th).

The first wedding was on Saturday evening & really had a laid-back kind of feel. The couple got married in a pecan orchard on an old farm. The bride rode up in a horse drawn carriage & the bridesmaids wore boots with their vintage-inspired knee-length dresses. These people are HUGE Auburn fans (it was kinda rainy at the beginning, so I brought my UGA umbrella) & the reception/party had a tailgating kind of theme. The band was set up under an old barn & the decorations were country cute. While this is not at all my style, it was pretty neat & different.

The second one was the wedding of one of my blog stalkers, Ashley. And if you are having an afternoon wedding, I have decided that Sunday is the perfect day! Ashley got married at our church & her flowers were gorgeous & so was she! The bridesmaid dresses were chocolaty brown, which I love! Her party was at an upscale venue, The Blacksmith Shop, with heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar & a band. She went with the more traditional themed wedding, much like mine. I love weddings & I can't help but tear up a little at each one.
-----------------------------------------------
I am also having some issues with 2 of my favorite shows, Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice. Do ya'll watch?

On Grey's, I am upset that they are killing off Izzie just when things are getting good with her & Alex. I am still in love with Denny Duquette (seriously, I may have to leave Retro if Jeffrey Dean Morgan calls. I wonder if he's on Twitter...) ANYWAY, but Alex does more for me than McDreamy or McSteamy (but he's close). On the plus side, Meredith & Derek are supposed to be getting married, but I have a feeling that something's going to happen with that & Izzie & Alex will tie the knot. I told ya'll May was the best month for weddings!

And Private Practice. I hate season finale cliffhangers! This ain't Dallas. Give me a happy ending. Please! If you don't watch, a crazy woman was about to cut open one of the main characters & steal her baby! I need to know who stops her. I'll be googling the spoilers for that one!

Ya'll have a great week! Summer's coming!!

OMG!!! I was yelling at the tv after watching the season finale of Private Practice last week....they can't end it that way!! So do you think the crazy lady really cuts Violet's baby out? Or do you think Coop will suddenly remember something he needed from inside the house and come back home to catch crazy lady in the act?? I can't imagine they're gonna kill off Violet just when she's found happiness with Pete. UGH!!!

You're old enough to know about Dallas cliffhangers? Ha! My mom wouldn't let me watch that show! On Friday nights - after The Incredible Hulk and the Dukes of Hazzard - we were banned to bed and from the living room!! We knew better than to bother mom during Dallas! So, sorry, but I don't watch any of those shows, but I do agree that May is a great month to get married. Unfortunately, we moved our wedding date up to April from our original plan of May b/c we thought Wayne would be getting a job as a sales rep! Thank God that didn't work out!

OK, even I was young when Dallas was on TV... were you seriously even born? Or do you remember hearing that "Who Shot JR Bullet" through the womb?! LOL

I've only watch Private Practice once before... OMG I could not tear away, for a second! Of course someone is going to barge in at the last moment before the knife punctures the skin, or someone will come in in full surgical gear with sutures and everything else needed to properly perform a Caesarian at home!!!

There was a blue-tongued at the bday party Pinkie went to--she held that one too. Too bad Bo wasn't there!

Those weddings sound gorgeous--I love weddings too! Aren't we lucky to have two daughters a piece--we get to plan TWO weddings--I have already told my daughter's that their weddings are really mine (to plan, etc.) and if they want their own wedding they will have to have their own daughter!
