Wal-Mart Shoplifter?

Seriously, ya'll have seen what I look like.

Do I look like someone that would steal anything from Wal-Mart?

Granted, that the Wal-Mart I frequent is kinda upscale - compared to the other ones around here.

And that I usually go first thing in the morning after I roll out of bed drop Sass off at school.

And that I look like hell am usually not really "dressed".

But I carry a freakin' HUGE Louis Vuitton bag!

And my lounge pants are LL Bean!

But it seems like every time I go, I'm the one they pick to check their receipt. And if I AM "dressed" I'm probably running late.

Is that even something the do? She does go back to her "podium" & write something down. Am I always the "every third person"?

Or has Retro hired someone to keep up with how much money I spend at Wal-Mart?

If that's the case, he should have called Target instead.

*ONE MORE DAY TO SIGN UP FOR
MY FLIP FLOP SWAP!!!*

You do not even look like you belong in Wal-Mart! Now, Semi {precious daughter of mine} - Upscale WalMart is an oxymoron for sure ;-) xoxo

You know what's wierd...they think you're stealing and they think I work there! People always stop and ask me where this or that is. I then look behind me as if to say... "are you talking to ME???" It's not like I'm wearing a uniform! We should go together and we could clean the place out. I'll escort you out and "check" your receipt since I "work" there.

Walmart is a str-ange place--I should know, I have been there two times already this week and have to make another trip tomorrow.

Wish I could do your flip-flop swap but I am swamped here. Can you believe we have 5 more weeks of school?!

Oh, that's FUNNY! (And interesting, cuz our Walmart doesn't check receipts at all.)

Tell me where there's an upscale Walmart around here?!!? I must not live near you b/c I so don't know about it. ;) And I hate Walmart, but I hate paying higher prices at Kroger and Publix more. ARRGGHHHH!

Take is as a complement because they age discriminate when checking receipts. I always get stopped when I am alone but never with my parents.

In this economy I wouldn't be surprised if they started checking everyone.

Seriously funny! I'm sure it does not feel that way to you though. Have a great weekend. xo

It should be more insulting than amusing that the door greeters, without just cause, suspect you of shoplifting and require you to prove your innocence. Fortunately for you, receipt checks and bag searches are voluntary. When you buy something from the store, it becomes your personal property, and no one can inspect that property without your permission.

What about the real thieves? Well, stores have closed-circuit cameras and professional loss prevention agents to spot them, and with evidence of wrongdoing, they do have the legal power to detain them and call police. But you're not a crook, and no one can prove otherwise. So, just politely decline their requests to search your belongings.

"Can I see your receipt?"

"No, thank you. Have a nice day."

It's that simple.

I never knew of this.. is this legal. I think that is insulting. I would really want to never shop there again. In this economy.... where is the LOVE??
Sorry this happened to you. Have a smashing long weekend!!

The solution is simple: NO Walmart. Period.
