Spring Break, Semi-Slacker Style

Unfortunately, the Semi-Slacker crew pretty much always stays around the house during Spring Break.

There are baby peaches to be pampered! And stressed over during a late freeze, sprayed because of all the rain & whatever else he does. Oh, the life of a farmer's wife.

And plus, we are helping Aunt Crissy move back to the compound, I mean, farm this week. (She's a teacher.)

So here's a little taste of our Semi-Slacker Spring Break, so far.

Playing dress-up or beauty shop or whatever they're doing.

Building a tunnel for Thomas. Ya'll didn't know I was an architect. Two DVD cases, (I used Veggie Tales & Monsters Inc.) popsicle sticks & scotch tape = a rockin' tunnel! Just don't touch!
Redoing the opening to the garage to fit a XL Yukon Denali. Bo shares his hammering skills with our resident carpenters, Kenny & Shawn.
Just a little child labor. The Yukon gets its bi-monthly cleaning, whether it needs it or not. Trust me, it always needs it!!!

Yeah, I put everybody to work!
Collecting new pets. Woo-hoo. That baby turtle did not know what he was getting himself into leaving the pond & coming into the yard! He'll be dead before Spring Break is over.
Here's our latest Science project. Nerdy, I mean Bo-Bo, is into amphibians (yeah I had to copy that spelling from his book). So these poor tadpoles had the misfortune to be born on the farm. There's 9 of the poor things.

And Baby Girl saw me with the camera & posed like this. Now, just because I like Girls Next Door, does not mean I condone this kind of pose. Besides, I believe she'll be a little too "healthy" for Playboy.

Tomorrow's entertainment will be the carpet cleaners & pressure washers, as well as the continuation of the home improvements. 2 days before the big Easter Egg Hunt!! No pressure Kenny.

That's what I call a good Spring Break. Just think of all the things you can mark off your list!! And you won't even have to do it this summer!! I won't tell DCS about the child labor going on "down on the farm". ;-) {hugs} to my grands!

Oh you are reminding me that my Yukon is disgustingly dirty. I don't even want to lift out the baby seat to see what is under there... ugh..

Glad to see child labour is still alive and kicking hee hee!!
I get my boys to help but they always run out patience and I end up doing it all!! Kids gotta love them!
Our easter egg hunt is today, but very overcast at the mo, hoping it's going to clear for later!
Have a greta day
Emma :)

sounds like you guys are having fun... I love being home during vacation. (Not spring because it is not warm enough here yet to have fun!) In the summertime I love to watch the kids play and have fun and catch fireflies and make fresh iced tea and lemonade and smores and catching toads and splashing at the beach until the sun starts to set... those are what make the best memories!

I always enjoy your posts so much! Looks like you are having my kind of break--crossing things off the list! I am very impressed with that Thomas tunnel and I drive a Yukon XL too--we are very alike BF!

Those tadpoles bring back memories! That was one of my favorite things to do when I was a kid. Fun!

Where did you find that wide zebra headband that Sassy is wearing? I've been looking everywhere for those for my girls.

I hope you have a relaxing week. We don't stray far either because of the business (Mother's day is coming!) for you it's peaches, for us gifts. It's all the same, were both staying home.

Have a great week!

I love that you got the turtle in on the action :)

And I'm curious about the peaches! We just moved out from CA and I'd spray my peaches right about now. They've already leafed out here in NC and I sprayed them about 2-3 weeks ago. Are they at risk?! I do not want any leaf curl or powdery mildew!!

Don't forget to check out the Chick Chat on my blog today if you have time, and consider applying to do it yourself! It's fun :)

You are so funny! She'll be too healthy!

How did you get those tadpoles to survive? I killed them off every year when they were mere sperm. Good going, woman.

Hey! That's the way we do it. Let me know how it turns out for the turtle and the tadpoles. Every spring I think about snagging a couple of tadpoles and raising them... but I'm afraid that I won't be able to get them out of the house later. We become "attached" to our pets... and to random bugs from the backyard, and broken toys... once it enters our lives, there's just no getting rid of anything! Help!

Looks like a lot of fun! I should entertain my kids less and put them to work too! Love it!

Happy Easter!!!

LOL! Really! I sometimes say that, but I never actually laugh out load, but this time I really did and then, even had to read part of it to my hsuband. You really got me with the turtle and the tadpoles... too funny. I always have the same feelings when my kids catch some poor unsuspecting creature. Your humor is wonderful... I'll be back for a visit! Shannon @ www.littlethingstx.blogspot.com
