Spring has Sprung!

The Semi-Slacker crew is sick again.

This time it's Spring Fever!

Spring is my favorite season! Everything is blooming. It's not too hot, not too cold. I love it!

We spent the majority of the day outside! Well, I did, the children did have to spend some time at school. I enjoyed this view from the yard. Our plum trees & a random peach tree in full bloom.

The Semi-Slacker project for the day was to do some spring cleaning "yard style". This project began on Thursday, but then the bottom fell out & it rained all weekend. The flower beds had to be weeded, bushes pruned & pine straw laid out.

My main concern was redoing this flowerbed. I worked my butt off on this flowerbed!

Okay, ya'll know I'm lying. But I did supervise! The bricks making up the boarder were from my great grandparents house that burned down in March of 1980.
The grass was cut, dog pen moved, "mini" garden prepped & ready for planting. I'm so excited! Retro has this done for me every year & it's such a transformation! It's really is a necessity, due to the fact that we host an Easter Egg Hunt at our house every year on the Saturday before Easter for about a 100 of our closest friends. Don't ya'll worry, that is most definitely a blog-worthy event!

Tomorrow, will be planting day!!! I know my "crew" is so excited.

In the last 24 hours, we have also acquired 2 mixed-breed puppies (read-mutts). Some of migrant workers were at the house fishing when we got home from picking up Sass from school yesterday & they had them. (Their dog is the momma.)

As soon as I saw those puppies, I knew exactly what would happen. She talked the guys into giving her those dogs & she doesn't even speak their language!!! Before her daddy got home, she had those dogs on the porch in our old baby play yard (or jail, as we used to refer to it) with food, water, bedding & toys.

Retro said NO WAY at first, but he's a sucker for a furry face.

So meet the newest members of the Semi-Slacker crew. Patches (who will be moving down the road with Aunt Crissy when her house is finished)

And Jack (or Jackson or Dawg, take your pick)!

Sassy took these pictures of the puppies. I sometimes think she's better with a camera than me! I think maybe some photography classes may be in her near future. I gotta do something to fill up her summer vacay!

With all my recent pain & outside time, I am falling behind on the blog world. Ya'll might have to take up a collection for me a laptop!

If it wasn't for the my impending sinus infection, I would love spring too :)

Those dogs are too cute. How could anyone, even Retro, say no?

Oh how cute are they? Two are easier to raise than one, are you sure you want to let one go??? Sweet sweet sweet!

How adorable! The puppies are precious. Sounds like some great yard "spring cleaning" is going on at your house. Your flowering trees in the backyard are beautiful. That egg hunt sounds like quite the event. Can't wait to see pictures. Have a great day.
Love & blessings from NC!
