For the past 20 years (since Retro was a senior) Sassy's school has been putting on a major musical production called Grandparent's Day. Why it's called Grandparent's Day, I have no idea. They could call it "Look how talented we can make your child for a mere 7 grand!"
This musical includes the whole lower school which is Pre-K through 4th grade, with the 4th grade providing the speaking roles. I don't know what productions they did the first 15 years, but the most recent GP's Day have featured 101 Dalmatians, Aladdin, Jungle Book & Annie. And for this year, the 20th year, they are doing a montage of all the past productions.
The children have been practicing hard for this since January. And volunteer momma's have been hard at work on decorations. And, yes I know my Cat in the Hat has "crazy eyes". I did not write artist on my volunteer form.
The 1st graders are singing God Bless America aka "The boringest song in the history of Grandparent's Day". However, if the entire 4th grade, who are singing Hillbilly Rock, fall ill the show will go on because the 1st graders knows the whole song. Choreography and all.
Aside from Hillbilly Rock, Sassy also enjoys singing The Bear Nessesames from Jungle Book.
Tomorrow is Dress Rehearsal aka Momma Paparazzi Day. Just call me Adnan.
