Jesus & Santa Claus

It's no secret.

If you loyally read my blog or know us personally, you know my kids don't really "fear me". I don't think they take me seriously. (Except when I "lose it", then they know I mean business!)

However, other authority figures they listen to. Especially, Jesus & Santa Claus! If you remember, Bo has threatened to call Jesus on Sassy.

As you also may know, Sassy has an attitude that drives me crazy! Hence her nickname. I also refer to her as the "Queen of Complaints".

One of the outgoing projects at my house is decorating the girl's bathroom. We've painted it bright pink & added a zebra print shower with lime accents. Sassy has a thing with animal prints, which she got honest from Gammi. However, I will not allow my 7 year old's bedroom to be decorated with animal prints. I think it's way to growny. In fact, I've gotten a lime green "zebra-ish" shower curtain in may use for the time being. Let me add that nobody even uses that tub, they use MY tub. But I digress...

Anyway, I have been looking for an inspirational quote to print on the bathroom mirror to dress it up a bit.

I've thought of:

  • A smile is the best thing you can put on.
  • The World Is Like a Mirror!! So When You Smile It Smiles Back At You!!!
  • Aim so high that you'll never get bored.

This is what I'm using...

Do everything without complaining or arguing. Philippians 2:14

Think since it's scripture, she'll pay attention?

Philippians 2:14. Enough said. BTW, would LOVE to see that bathroom when it's complete!

I agree with that saying, and just realized I need to teach it to may children. So I thank you for your blog today, as it has taught me something.
I love animal prints, and so does my five year old. I told her she had to be 13 before she could have it in her room. Just a thought for you.

I love that idea!

I just got off the phone with my momand it turns out my little 2 year old cousin has been in the hospital all Sunday night and then back again last ngiht with a rota virus! I had never heard of that before your little girl had it and now him? So strange. I guess he's feeling a bit better now though because they gave him an iv.

I absolutely love the pink and zebra with lime green! You are so lucky to get to pull that off at your house! No luck at all for me in that area- boys out number us!! Good going with the scriptures- I heard=) that is how they/we are suppose to learn- period.
By using it promotes obedience. I should try it=)

Love the quote! Can you make it neon? Or paint into the walls of their room so they see it only subliminally. LOL

Don't forget to post pics of that bathroom. It sounds really cute!!

I love your idea. Can we see pictures of the bathroom when it's done? I think I will post scripture in our bathroom. I've done it for myself, but not the kids.

I like it!! Hope it works!!!

I think the verse is wonderful..I like the idea of going with a scripture rather than a famous quote! It'll remind her that God is always watching!! And Santa Claus!

ooooh I LOVE this Bible verse! We use it around here when necessary - teenagers seem to rarely do anything without complaining. At least mine don't! {even if that just means an eye-roll or mumble - it's all in the attitude!}

Saw you on the SITS roll call, loved your Semi-Slacker Mom name and had to stop by. :o)

Ooh, it'd be very convicting to read that verse everyday!
