Guess where Baby Girl & I spent the night...

By yesterday evening, Baby Girl's "just a stomach bug" had become something even funner than staying awake & puking all night. She had gotten severely dehydrated.

When Sassy (she insisted on going with us) & I got to Pediatrics After Hours around 7, Baby Girl's hands & feet were turning blue. Thankfully, our regular doc, Dr. K was working the After Hours shift. He examined her, talked with me, did a CBC & decided she needed to spend the night at The Children's Hospital getting IV fluids. And then HE called Retro to tell him what was going on. Sassy & I both, were basket cases!

Dr. K had the security guard drive us over to the hospital. They were waiting for us in room 311. The only thing that put a smile on my face was that her hospital bracelet had her first name as Baby Girl!!! Shortly after we arrived, Retro, Babsy, Gammi & Daddy B joined us. Poppa stayed home with Brooks. Dr. K came by around 11:15 & everybody left after that, so Baby Girl went to sleep around midnight. Me, not so much!

I now know what Retro was fussing about every time I had a baby. I slept maybe 2 1/2 hours.

This morning, Baby Girl was much better. She ate some grits, we walked the halls, played in the playrooms, found Nemo & even got a teddy bear (really a lamb, she loves Lammies!) & will be on the local news tonight. A group came to give teddy bears to the children for Valentine's Day!

Even though she feeling better, we've decided she needs to stay home with Babsy & Poppa while we go to Beech Mountain. I'll miss her, but think she'll enjoy the one-on-one time with them more anyway!
