Adventures in Motherhood

Today, I must have lost my mind & took all 3 of my children, yes ALL 3!, to Monkey Joe's for Sassy's classmate's birthday party. For those of you not familiar with Monkey Joe's, it's basically a very large room full of inflatable playgrounds.

MJ's has a very secure in/out policy. They give you & your children coordinating wristbands & they remove them when you leave. And they have comfy chairs for tired mommies.

So, everything's going smoothly. Bo is doing his own thing, as usual & Sassy & her friends are doting over Baby Girl like she's their own personal American Girl doll.

I even got to sit down & talk to my friends for about 2 minutes!

Then time comes to go to the party room.

This time just happens to coincide with Bo's meltdown over his desire for an ice cream. (I got him a Klondike bar thing, he took one bite & didn't like it. Now he wanted a push-up. After pitching a fit, I got for him (I know!). Thanks to the sweet girl for not charging me for the second one.)

During all this, Baby Girl is playing in the baby jumper. So, Bo gets his freakin' push-up, Sass gets into the party room & I go back to get Baby Girl.

She is not in the baby jumper. Or the baby slide. Or the toy area. I go get a friend to help me check all the inflatables.

She's not on the big slide. Or in the bathroom. I start freaking out!

I'm not worried that she's gone, just worried that she's gotten on one of the big things & is scared!

I get some more mommas to help!

Then I go get Sassy. "I know where she's at!" Thank you. Please share.

Sure enough. My 2-year old is inside the inflatable obstacle course!!! When I get to it with Sassy, my friend Wendy is getting her out.

She, of course, is oblivious to the fact that she just about gave me a massive coronary.

Tomorrow, we're going to Party Playgrounds for another party!

I try to avoid MJs like the plague. LOL! Caleb loves to go, but I try to not drive by there. LOL!

My heart has stopped like yours did several times. I now try to send my husband to these type situations. Soon they will have cellphones and not only can you find them instantly but they will call you from their bedroom when you are in the kitchen.

Ah! I'm glad you made it out of MJ's safe and sound! And ready to tackle another party!

Wild, isn't it? My husband took all three of ours (4,2 and walking 1 yr old) to a new Chuck-E-Cheeses last night while I was at girls' night. I was just praying most of the night that he wouldn't lose one.

That has to be one of the scariest Mom moments ever. Glad it all worked out. I've never heard or MJ's but it sounds like a nice place. We don't have anything like that around here.

Please don't lose my grandchildren.

I've had that happen to me, too. It is so scary!

We got a MJ in the area, but haven't went yet.

I know the feeling. I am a pre-school teacher to 3 year olds and I am constantly counting heads to make sure I have everyone. That is my fear, to lose a child. Wouldn't that be aweful? Have a blessed week.

Oh gosh, I have lost one at those inflatable places, too. Chuck E. Cheese is another nightmare...do you have those?

I'm glad everybody was found. Reminds me of the time Bo disappeared from us in Perry. I don't know how you keep up with three. I had hard enough time keeping up with one. BG

Oh my goodness! I can't imagine the panic you must have been going through. I have been through a moment like that at Chuck E. Cheeses. Not fun.
