1st grade is kicking my ...

Last night I was helping Sassy with her homework. Math, oh goody. my favorite.
Apparently, she is learning about congruent shapes. I don't think I learned that until high school geometry! They also know how to tally. College, maybe?

And last week, astronaut was one of her spelling words. This week she has February. (I always screw that one up.) All I can say is I'm glad they send a sheet home with the words written on them. Spell check is my friend!

Sometime next month, she (read we) has to do a project on the solar system & a written report on the planet of her choice. We picked Saturn! Of course it's due like 2 days after we get home from our "Winter Break" trip to Beech Mtn.!!! So, if you miss me in the blog world over the next few weeks, it's because I'm up to my ears in all things Saturn & his 8 friends! (Remember this, My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas!) Yes, I am counting Pluto.

Did I tell you 1st grade is kicking my arse!?! And I have a college degree! The Georgia Public School System rocks.

Should I send her to Sylvan or just go myself!

Sorry if you commented on yesterday's post & got a return email. I use outlook express daily, but my Internet provider inbox was full! I had like 3000 emails to delete!
-----------------------------------------------------------
I spent the entire day today cleaning, organizing & rearranging our bedroom. I would post pictures but I won't because my bedroom is the LEAST "decorated" room in my entire house! And all my children's clothes & shoes are in this room, not to mention my stuff! (With the exception of dress clothes, all of Retro's are in a closet in the mud room.) So even when it's organized, my room is still not anything to write home about!

Reading your post brings back memories of school projects with both my girls over the years. I was never so glad to get them out of public school and no more "busy-work" projects. I never could do the math either. They were on their own. And I have a college degree too. School is harder now than I remember it being when we were in school. Hang in there.
Beech Mountaina here you come!!!
Love & blessings in NC!

I have no idea what that even means. Oh no, I better start studying now for the arrival of first grade in 2011!
BTW, that was Avery's Snow White dress. We were actually at Beck's house when I took that picture. She goes straight for that dress as soon as we arrive.
I love being able to read all of the Bunko Babe's blogs...

Awww...gotta love it! LOL! Lucky me I get to re-learn (I mean teach) that stuff to Caleb! We're doing all kinds of stuff in Kindergarten that I know they don't do here...tallies, counting by 10s, 5s, add/subtract, geez...it's getting crazy in Kindergarten!
