Weekend Wrap-up

A funny thing happened on the way to Hawkinsville... Last Sunday Gammi (aka Mammy) & I took the children to her side's Christmas get-together & she gets in the Yukon (I miss saying Suburban) wearing her black full-length mink coat. Baby Girl takes one look at her, starts laughing & says "Mammy, you a doggie" & "Mammy's de Ruffy". Ruffy's her name for all dogs that she doesn't know their real name. Too funny!

I have bad news to report, Santa dropped the ball. Our after-Christmas trip to Beech Mountain has had to be postponed. According to weather.com, the Long-Range Ski Forecast (Ski Weather Maps) is not looking too promising for snow. It's mostly rain & Retro & I decided it would not be such a great idea to take 3 children to a smaller (than ours) house with a limited supply of toys to enjoy 2 out of 3 days of rain. We'll try again in January. I love the South, but sometimes our weather drives me crazy!

My 3 children made a gingerbread house this week. It was mostly a creation by the 2 little ones, because Sassy got mad because they weren't "doing it right"! Imagine that! Maybe next year, maybe Wilton will feature our house on its box. Trust me, it's a more attainable goal for the 2-4 crowd. My momma's BFF gave us another one (Martha Stewart's) & now Bo & Sassy are fighting over you gets to do it!!! Note to self: Next year, get 3!

One of the little boys in Sass's class told everyone "there's no Santa". Thankfully their teacher corrected him, but since then, I've been going overboard with "you must believe" stuff. Her Elf on the Shelf, Candy Cane, has been working overtime (moving around the house, bringing gifts), we've emailed Santa & checked his "Nice List" & I made this little "ornaments" for the class inspired by the Polar Express.

The president & vice-president of our local chapter of the Santa Claus Fan Club, Bo & Baby Girl, had a visit from "him" at preschool. Bo would have nothing to do with him, but I did get this shot of Baby Girl.

Before we left, I was able to get a shot of her giving Santa a hug. I'll post that later.

Please let me close this post by apologizing for my previous post. I know it's cheesy, but my children LOVE it & this was the best place to put it so they could watch it 50 times a day.

I started this at 2:30, finished at 7:45.

Your last post wasn't cheesy at all. I'm glad you're doing all you can to keep the spirit alive for Santa. It's the right thing to do in my opinion. Good for you! You're on Santa's good list now :)

My kids did a gingerbread house, too. Do you let your kids eat it? My husband says no, I say yes-that's what they are for!
