My Favorite Christmas Things

I had never understood why the song "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music is considered a Christmas song. Raindrops on roses & whiskers on kittens has nothing to do with Christmas.

I was going to rewrite the song with my favorite Christmas things, but let's be real here. It's 9:30 on Christmas Eve Eve & I ain't a song writer!

So here's a list: (I am a list maker!)
  • playing Santa on Christmas Eve (couldn't do it without Aunt Crissy)
  • adopting a needy family (delivered today! AWESOME!)
  • making Christmas goodies (we now have 3 gingerbread houses!)
  • cute Christmas outfits
  • awesome Christmas songs (been playing since Nov.)
  • holiday movies & TV specials
  • DECORATIONS!
  • secret pal gifts
  • buying Christmas for my children (I always overdo!)
  • the Christmas Story (Baby Jesus) & Twas the night before Christmas
  • the excitement of my kids on Christmas morning
  • breakfast with all the family after Santa (the gps, aunt Crissy & Phillip)
  • my cute "Christmas Party" pants
  • Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark (try it!)

So, when the bills come, when my nerves fry, when I'm feeling stressed, I'm simply remember my favorite things & then I won't feel so bad!

***I need a Christmas Miracle this year folks. It's a selfish one, but here's the deal. Bo is a BIG TIME Momma's Boy & it hurts Retro's feelings sometimes. So "Santa Daddy" got Bo a set of golf clubs. The miracle part is I need him to be more excited about those clubs than all the Thomas the Train stuff he asked for (& is obsessed with) that "Santa Momma" got back sometime in November!***

I love your favorite things list! Although I never understood why this is a Christmas song, either... Good luck on your miracle! I bet he'll love the golf clubs!

Maybe if Santa Moma is super excited about the golf clubs, it will help. That is pretty normal for a little one to be a momma's boy. Retro's time will come for sure, too :-) Love your favorite things! Merry, Merry Christmas. . . xoxo

He did like the clubs & played with them some. But the trains were #1. One day I'll post about the deal with him & Retro.

My son was obsessed with Thomas at the same age...now he is almost 10 and loves golf with his dad.
