Life & Death

Retro's cousin was killed in a motorcycle accident yesterday. He was 47 & leaves behind a wife & 3 children (ages 22, 16 & 11), a sister and his parents. The same parents who buried another child 31 years ago. How awful to have to bury not one, but two children in your lifetime!?! I can't imagine the pain. It may be harder with a small child, but no matter how old they are they're still your baby.

The news of deaths effects me kind of strangely. It takes awhile for reality to set in. I just feel like we're a family get-together & the person is gone somewhere, to the store, work, out of town, wherever, just not there. Maybe Heaven's like a vacation that's so good, you never come home.

D's death has made me realize that I need to get out of this pain-induced rut I've been in lately. Life's to short to let the little things of everyday life get you in a bad mood. While granted, my back still hurts constantly, I'm going to continue to pop my pain pills & suck it up. Anybody got any happy pills they wanna share?

On a more positive note, due to the circumstances, Baby Girl's birthday party has been postponed till next weekend. I feel good about that, it gives me an extra week to get everything done. Who knows? Baby Girl may have an outfit that coordinates with the theme after all. And the best news is... Matt Lizzie is coming to work 2 or 3 days next week! Halle-freckin-lujah!!! That's all I need to start heading down the yellow brick road to my happy place!

Let's see if I can keep up my positive attitude while trying to figure out what my children are going to be for Halloween! Sassy wants to be Hannah Montana or Sharpey, but that is so not happening! I would love for their outfits to coordinate, but I do realize that idea may be a pipe dream this year with a sassy 7 year old in the mix! Anybody got any ideas?

I saw some McCain & Obama masks at Walmart. Maybe they'll put a rush on Sarah Palin ones!

I'm really sorry about the cousin. You are right, it doesn't matter the age, they are still your "baby."
